Socks for Homeless Soles
Sock Run Stories
While doing a sock run last night, (after getting screamed at by a homeless man to "GO AWAY"), I actually feel so bad that they have to live like that so I didn't take it personal. But I found out there is something called Midnight Run, a van than goes throughout the city with volunteers and they give out food and coffee and clothes to the homeless. I stopped and talked to them for a while and we both thanked eachother for what we do. I'm just so glad there are people out there who care. I felt so bad for my last sock guy. I always announce myself while walking up to them so as not to startle them, and I said "hi, i'm just leaving you some socks" and he peeked his little sweet face out of the blanket and said thank you and then said "do you have any food"? OUCH, my heart broke in pieces. I told him no, but that the Midnight Run van was on it's way and he smiled. So I was able to leave there knowing at least he would be getting food for the night. As always, I'm always looking for sock donations, so PM me if you would like to help.
